Pee Wee’s Big Adventure

With its quirky humor set inside a playful world built by Tim Burton, Pee Wee’s Big Adventure is a great family film for children of all ages. When the goofy man-child Pee-Wee Herman has his bike stolen from him, he embarks on a cross country search for his most prized possession. Burton’s (A Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands) directorial debut twists and turns from fun to scary and back again in this inventive and artistic summer adventure.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of The Black Pearl

The first in the franchise and arguably the best, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl still holds up to big-budget blockbuster standards 14 years after its release. Crystal clear waters of the Caribbean, soaring seas, a massive treasure hunt and forbidden romance- what more could you want in a great summer flick?

The Endless Summer

You know that famous poster you see in every beach house on the Eastern Shore? Turns out, that’s actually a movie poster from the 1966 surf documentary, The Endless Summer. Follow two top surfers on their journey catching waves around the world in exotic locations like Australia and Africa and brush up on your surf skills.

Lilo and Stitch

Lilo is a lonely Hawaiian girl longing for someone to have fun with. She adopts a little blue dog named Stitch, without realizing he’s an alien from another planet. This beachy movie about family and unlikely friendship will make you laugh, cry and quote “Ohana means family” a whole lot.

Sharknado

This cult hit that debuted during Discovery Channel’s Shark Week is about the terror that breaks loose after thousands of sharks are swept into tornadoes around the city and begin wreaking havoc on Los Angeles. Ridiculous? Yes. Entertaining? Oh, yes.
