Auto
- The main thoroughfare in Ocean City, Maryland is Coastal Highway / Philadelphia Avenue. Philadelphia Avenue runs from the Inlet to 32nd Street. It then becomes Coastal Highway and stretches north to the Delaware line at 146th Street. There are three lanes running in each direction on the 10 mile strip with the speed limit at 40 mph north of 32nd St. South of 32nd St. the speed limit ranges from 30-35 mph.
Boardwalk Train
- Boardwalk trains run the length of the three-mile Boardwalk every 20 minutes Easter through September. One way fare is $1.50.
Bus Service
- In Ocean City, avoid the fuss – ride the bus!
Don’t worry about the headache of finding parking near the boardwalk or any favorite spot around Ocean City. Ocean City Transportation provides 24-hour bus service for just $2 – ride all day! This $2 entitles the purchaser to UNLIMITED daily trips between the Park & Ride, Ocean City Factory Outlets and the South Division Street Transit Center, as well as the length of Coastal Highway from the Delaware-Maryland line to South Division Street. Bus stops are located on every other block along Coastal Highway, Philadelphia Avenue and Baltimore Avenue. It’s the way to go!For further savings, discount coupon books are available for $15 and they contain 10 all-day passes for a savings of 25% per pass. These coupon books are available on the buses, at City Hall or at the Convention Center.
During the summer, buses run approximately every 5-10 minutes. From October to Memorial Day, buses are operated every 15-30 minutes. Exact change ($2.00) is required.
Municipal buses and trolleys follow a route South along Coastal Highway and Philadelphia Avenue to South Division Street, where they make a stop at the Transit Center. They then travel North on Baltimore Avenue to 15th Street, turning left and continuing North on Coastal Highway to the Delaware line.
Senior citizen half-fare discount passes for visitors over 60 years of age are available at City Hall, Convention Center Box Office at 40th Street, and at Northside Park, 125th Street. Senior citizen resident passes are available only through the Transportation Office, 66th Street, Bayside. Call 410-723-1607. Park & Ride
- The West Ocean City Park & Ride shuttle is $1 – ride all day! This enables the purchaser to UNLIMITED daily trips between the Park & Ride, Ocean City Factory Outlets and the South Division Street Transit Center. Users may choose to cash in their Park & Ride ticket for an additional $1, and receive Ocean City Transit’s complete line of service. Park & Ride Discount Coupon Books are $15 for 20 rides, at a savings of 25% per pass and are available upon request.The lot is available for FREE parking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
In June, July & August bus service runs approximately every 10 minutes from 6am – 2am and as need from 2am – 6am.

Fees apply from the first Saturday in April or Good Friday, whichever occurs first, through the third Sunday in October. Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot, adjacent to the southern end of Boardwalk; open year round, ticketed fee system 24 hours a day.

Parking
Please do not park by a curb painted red, in front of any driveway without the consent of the owner, on any sidewalk, in a crosswalk, in any intersection, on any bridge, or within 15 feet of a fire hydrant. Note that there are posted parking regulations on Ocean City streets. Please read those regulations before leaving your vehicle parked on the street. Please check your vehicle daily for additional street postings as some are posted on a temporary basis for parades and other special considerations. Also,
when parking, park with the flow of traffic. If you receive a parking ticket, you may pay at the Public Safety building, City Hall or online at www.OceanCityMD.gov.
Pay Stations/Ticketed Parking Lots
Ocean City has instituted convenient pay stations for street parking and some lots. Look for the pay station to purchase parking time in a given area and post the voucher in your car windshield. These stations offer the option of cash or credit card payment. Street parking payment is due for the hours between 9 a.m. and midnight. Lot parking payment due 24 hours a day. In season, meters are 24 hours.

- The standard fare is $3 Ride-All-Day or $1 per boarding. A $3 Ride-All-Day pass allows you to ride from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 a.m. the next morning.
- Half Fare ($1.50 Ride-All-Day or .50 Cents Per-Boarding): Senior Citizens age 65 and over, Disabled Persons* (non-certified up to 21 days), Medicare card holders and Ocean City Non-Resident Senior Bus Pass holders. Proof of eligibility may
be required. - Free: Children 42 inches in height and under, ADA Certified Disabled card holders and Ocean City Resident Senior Bus Pass holders. Proof of eligibility may be required.
- Coupon books are available at $15 per book, $250 for 20 books, $600 for 50 books and $1,125 for 100 books.
The ocean breeze, beach, sand, and family atmosphere are just a few of the reasons why you will want to ride the Ocean City Boardwalk trams during your visit to Ocean City. The comfortable Boardwalk trams can take you the whole length of the Boardwalk, which travels from the Inlet to the north booth at 27th Street. Please note, the tram operation is subject to weather conditions.
- Tram fare is $3 a person, per boarding, one way ride.
- Discount fare punch cards are available at $20 for 8 rides.
- NEW unlimited ride pass is available for $6, allowing passengers to get on and off the tram as much as they like, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the day of purchase.

The Town of Ocean City is pleased to offer ample free parking and a $3 Ride-All-Day or $1 per boarding bus shuttle to the South
Division Street Transit Center at our West Ocean City Park and Ride facility.
- The West Ocean City Shuttle between the South Division Street Transit Center, West Ocean City Park & Ride, and the Outlets is a seasonal operation that begins in May and runs intermittently into October.
- The Park and Ride Shuttle offers service every 20 minutes from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. and on demand at other times throughout the summer season.
