The Art League of Ocean City (ALOC) will host its 9th annual Sand Castle Home Tour on September 19-20, 2013. The self-guided home tour of ten unique residences in the Ocean City, MD area is held from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm each day. This year there is a wide variety of homes including the lovely beach homes of Tiffany and Mitch Wyatt, Kathy and Mike Marshall and Reese Cropper III. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to view some of the finest homes in South Point, West Ocean City and the southern end of Ocean City.

This year’s tour also marks the 50th Anniversary of the Art League of Ocean City. The ALOC started the Sand Castle Home Tour nine years ago to raise funds for the non-profit to be able to relocate into a new building. The Art League now calls the Ocean City Center for the Arts, home. Located on 94th Street bayside, this state of the art, 7500 square-foot building has beautiful galleries, studios, classrooms and a pottery studio. “After many years of fundraising, the Art League of OC finally saw all our hard work come to fruition,” says Rina Thaler, Executive Director of the OC Center for the Arts, “with the March 1st Grand Opening of the new Ocean City Center for the Arts.”

The tour will kick off with a cocktail party sponsored by the Gateway Grand at the home of Jim and Jan Perdue on Wednesday, September 11 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Reservations for the cocktail party are $75 per person and may be purchased by calling the ALOC at 410-524-9433. The cost of the 2-day home tour is $30 and tickets may be purchased from the ALOC by calling or by purchasing online at The cocktail party and the home tour are major fundraisers for the Art League and continue to be popular events on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
