BERLIN- Stephen Decatur’s girls’ varsity soccer team beat Mardela, 6-0, on Monday to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Jillian Petito scored two first-half goals to stake the Seahawks to an early 2-0 lead. In the second half, forward Rebecca Lederman took over, recording a hat trick to extend the Seahawks lead to 5-0. Kayla Alcantar added a late goal for Decatur, which cruised to the 6-0 win. With Decatur’s stingy defense keeping the Warriors out of their defensive end, Seahawks goalkeeper Rachel Florick was largely a spectator for much of the contest and recorded just one save. With the win, the Seahawks improved to 3-1 on the season.
