Detox in 2014 | Farm Foodie Fitness
Well it’s the New Year and we’re all detoxing or at least thinking about detoxing! I am
actually doing a 14-day one myself! After a season of college and professional football,
holidays, parties, and massive amounts of stress, I think I may have over done it a little with
the beer and wine!
Yea, I’m the crazy girl jumping on the couch, beer sloshing out of the bottle, yelling at the
t.v., peaking around the corner trying not watch the nail-biting last second field goal kick
that could win the game! Between my Washington Redskins leaving in a puddle of tears
all season and my Clemson Tigers finishing off strong, but giving me small rounds of panic
attacks and possibly heart failure, the micro brews always seemed to make it a little easier
to take.
With all the holiday fun and relaxing football watching, I let myself fall out of my daily
regime and actually enjoyed my friends, family, and the holidays. With that came lots of
stress, sleepless nights, and even my skin started to really break out, which yea I get some
break outs but this was getting ridiculous! Trips to get facials, the dermatologists, back to
the doctors for a blood work up, prescriptions, microdermabrasion, Nada! None of it was
working! Completely frustrated and at my wit’s end. I kept asking myself what the heck was
going on? I knew serious inflammation issues! So I gave myself the time to enjoy the rest of
the holidays and football season, then I was back on the wagon. So a couple of days ago I
started my own detox program. No concoctions, no powders or only drinking smoothies and
juicing all day! I’m not starving myself or depriving myself of food, no crazy diets, or pills to
take everyday! Just a good old-fashioned detox. Normally I tell my clients 5 days is perfect.
Getting to 5 days is a huge accomplishment with our busy lives these days. And in 5 days
you’ll be able to feel and see the difference. So here’s one of my new green smoothie recipes. I drank mine out of a large wine glass
to celebrate some big news I got this morning and yes I was jumping on the couch again
in excitement with this in my hand too! You can also check out my 5 day detox program
on my website. If you decide you want to try it out, we can detox together so you’ll have
tons of support and know someone else is out there fighting not to open the freezer door
for the large bar of dark chocolate! You’ll cleanse your body, kick old habits, expel toxins,
gain energy, shed unwanted pounds, boost your immune system, reduce inflammation, get
glowing radiant skin, restart your system, and kick chronic health issues. Sounds great huh?
Well in 3 days all the inflammation in my skin has gone, my face has cleared up, I have my
energy back, sleeping soundly, definitely boosting my immune system as my husband sits
next to be coughing. Yuck! But, in the meantime here is my new green juice recipe to get
you started!
