Dough Roller, a traditional family favorite at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland for pizza, pancakes and family fun announced the grand opening of its newest location in West Ocean City on Wednesday, May 8th, at 10:00 am. Family owned and operated since 1980, the West OC location becomes the fifth Dough Roller restaurant at the beach.  Promotional specials on opening day include $1 pancakes, $2 pizzas and all day happy hour for guests.

The Dough Roller is a family and Ocean City tradition that has been shared for decades. Since then, The Dough Roller has grown. All three of Bill Gibbs sons have taken roles within the family business. Currently Jeff managers the third street location. Gary helps manage two locations on Coastal Highway – one at 41st Street beside the Convention Center and the other at 70th Street. Kevin manages the second boardwalk location at South Division Street, across from the Inlet parking lot serves Dayton’s Boardwalk Famous Fried Chicken – an Eastern Shore tradition.

The new location doesn’t disappoint when it comes to its signature décor of carousel horses, vintage lunch boxes and handmade wooden booths. Bill’s wife Julie has assisted with the decorating all of the locations. Local art fills the walls with Eastern Shore prints from Erik Sahler and Plak That and an Ocean City custom bar top mural by Marshall Adams.   “The layout of this location gave us the opportunity to do change things up and include a bar built wider than most (32 inches) to fit a pizza with drinks for a comfortable dining experience,” said Kevin Gibbs. The restaurant will be open year-round with carryout available and convenient parking with easy access for food pick up and dining in experiences.

While regulars and long-standing visitors will see some familiar faces, Keith Melvin, General Manager, who has been working with Gibbs for 40 years. Brand new to the West OC Dough Roller team is executive chef Samantha Mairano and bar manager Greg Grim.  The menu will offer the traditional pizza and pancakes, daily Breakfast and many of the same Eastern Shore favorites, including new Italian dishes, only available at the West Ocean City location as well as Happy Hour specials in the bar area.

“This is an exciting time for Dough Roller,” said Keith Melvin, GM of Dough Roller, West OC.  “While we have been in business for nearly 40 years, we continue to grow and offer an inviting space for family traditions and memories at the beach in Ocean City.”
