FALL into October with Delmarva’s Autumn Events
October is here and we’re pretty much in shock over it. How is September over? Before we know it, it will be Thanksgiving… not that we’re complaining. ShoreBread sure does LOVE the holidays. But let’s not jump too far ahead. October is such an amazing month down here on the shore; it’s full of beautiful fall weather, chilly walks on the beach, soaking up the last of al fresco dining, and celebrating with plenty of Halloween festivities. This month is one that none of us can resist… we just may have watched Hocus Pocus last night. #toosoon?
So happy October to all of our wonderful readers! We hope you soak up all this month has to offer:

With fall, comes fishing. Ocean City’s October season is known as “Rocktober” due to the amounts of Rockfish people catch during this time of year. This is also Ocean City’s only 24-hour Rockfish tournament. In addition to the coveted Rockfish, you can also qualify by catching Flounder, Trout and Tautog. The tournament stars on Saturday at 4PM and ends at 4PM on Sunday and ends with an awards banquet around a bonfire and a pig roast on the beach at Fishtales!

Punkin Chunkin is a local phenomenon that draws crowds from all across the United States. Some know it only as getting up at 5AM, driving to the middle of nowhere Delaware, day drinking and watching pumpkins being launched across a field. The event goes all weekend long with many of its participants camping out.
