Candace C. Kimmett
FISHERSVILLE — Candace Jean (Cahall) Kimmett, 46, wife of James Gamble “Jamie” Kimmett, II, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 after her courageous battle with cancer.
Mrs. Kimmett was born June 9, 1968 in Milford, Del., a daughter of Nancy (Cahall) Lewis and step-father, the late Charles Everett Lewis.
Candace was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1986; received her Bachelor of Science from Bridgewater College in 1990; and received her Masters of Science in Education Administration from the Shenandoah University in 2004.
Candace retired from Waynesboro High School where she was the assistant principal, volleyball coach and a special mentor and friend of those students she loved and cared for so dearly. She enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, spending time with her family and enjoying the fun times.
In addition to her devoted husband and friend “Jamie” and her mother, survivors include her Virginia parents, Judy and Larry Worley of Stuarts Draft; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bonnie (Wheeler) “Bunny” and Laurence Gamble “Larry” Kimmett of Staunton; two sisters, Jody (Worley) Sipe and husband B.J. of Fishersville and Kelly (Worley) Gray and husband Stuart of Schwenksville, Pa.; brother-in-law, Dr. Jan Marion, DVM of Waynesboro; sister-in-law, Lauren (Kimmett) Maring and husband David of Denver, Colo.; and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and many close and special friends.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014 in the Waynesboro High School Auditorium. The family will receive friends following the service in the school cafeteria and other times at the residence.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Candace C. Kimmett Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Waynesboro High School, 1200 West Main Street, Waynesboro, Va. 22980.
The family would like to thank Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah; Michelle Gallagher, RN; caregivers Helen Schurz and Pat Austin; and Dr. Stefan Gorsch and the staff at the UVA Hope Center in Fishersville.

Elizabeth L. Dolan
OCEAN PINES — Elizabeth “Betty” Dolan of Ocean Pines passed peacefully surrounded by family members on July 22, 2014.
Born Aug. 2, 1928 in Johnstown, Pa., she married in 1948 and moved to Baltimore where she raised three daughters. She moved to Ocean Pines in 1994 with her husband where Betty immediately became an active member of the ocean City community, including the Delmarva Irish American Club, her local book club and served as an officer of AARP. A frequent volunteer for Ocean City events, she was presented with a key to the city by Mayor Jim Mathias. She was a dear friend to many.
Betty was the beloved sister of Kathy Patrick and husband Bill and the late Phyllis McCann. She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Debra Shaffer and husband, Robert, Cynthia Sudia and her late husband Joseph, Thomasine Dow and husband
Whitney; her seven dear grandchildren, Heather, Stacie, Michael, Megan, Henrietta, Clementine and Charlotte Mim; five great grandchildren; and her loving companion, Ken McFarlin.
A memorial service and mass is being planned for Sept. 6, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. Luke’s in Ocean City.
