Wine on the Beach Brings Local Wines & Vendors to Ocean City this Weekend
We bid a bittersweet farewell to the summer of 2014 earlier this week and we may have shed a tear or two as the colder weather took a tight grip on the Eastern Shore. Fortunately for us, another fall staple is right around the corner to cheer us up and prime us for fall. Wine on the Beach, located literally right ON the beach, is something locals and tourists look forward to each year as it signifies the first true start to autumn.
Basically the scene sets itself with beautiful white tents, a clear blue sky (fingers crossed), the ocean roaring in the background, and a glass of wine in your hand… honestly, what else do you need? Wine on the Beach is returning to Ocean City for its 19th year and they aren’t slowing down this year…or anytime soon for that matter. The cultured event strives to focus on “boutique” wineries, more specifically wines from the East Coast and that you can’t readily find in liquor or beer stores. It’s a unique opportunity to sample new wines, revisit favorites, and talk vino with the experts. Of course our favorite part (second only to the wine tastings) is the locally-minded aspects of the event. Local wines?? You know where to find us Saturday afternoon.
The vineyards go all the way from Maryland to West Virginia.
